Our catering teams are highly committed to producing and serving a variety of nutritious food options and encouraging students to make healthier choices for themselves. Our menus are designed using Government regulations and ProVeg School Plates guidance to ensure we are offering products that meet school food standards. We have also recently conducted a Federation-wide student survey to gain better insight as to what the students love and want to eat in school and have implemented some of these items into our new menus.

We offer a diverse and inclusive menu that includes choices for Vegetarian, Vegan, and Religious and Ethnic diets as well as requirements for medical conditions such as Diabetes.

If you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please contact the Catering Manager.

We provide a Break Time service where students can purchase snacks and drinks. Please see our Break Time Menu for more details and pricing.

Our Lunch menu is a three-week rotating menu, which changes seasonally. Please see our Lunch Menus for 2023-2024 options.

Prices vary throughout our menus but to promote a healthy, varied and sustainable diet we have two Meal Deals to choose from, which include items from our freshly made sandwich area and nutritious homemade hot meals and desserts. Please see our Meal Deal and Lunch Price List for more information and pricing.

Please note that menus may be subject to change depending on the availability of ingredients.

Menus, Price Lists and School Food Information

Paying for Food

We use a biometric cashless catering system which provides secure individual catering accounts for each child.

You can top up your child's balance online via My Child at School, or add cash to your account using the machines located in the school halls and in WMS reception.

Please note that no change will be given for cash purchases - any remaining funds will be deposited onto your child’s account.

We strongly encourage parents to top up and monitor their child’s account online to ensure there are sufficient funds available to spend. Please allow 24 hours for funds to be deposited online.

Free School Meals

Students entitled to free school meals have the set amount for a free school meal added to their account automatically. Free school meal allowance applies to lunch service only. Any additional items over the allowance and break time items must be paid for at the point of purchase.

Parents/carers who receive qualifying benefits can apply to Northumberland County Council for free school meals here.

Food Allergen Labelling

All of our catering staff are trained on Allergens (Including Natasha’s Law) and all of our food labels state common ingredients with allergens in bold.

We understand that people with food allergies have to be extremely careful about what they eat. We ask parents to notify the school of allergies and intolerances that students have, with updates as and when required.

Students can ask any member of the catering team for more detailed information about possible allergens in any of our products.

If you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please contact the Catering Manager.

Food Hygiene

We received the highest possible Food Hygiene Rating of 5 (Very Good) at our last inspection by Northumberland County Council.

Feedback

We welcome feedback from students, staff and parents so that we can improve our service. Please contact the school if you would like to speak to the Catering Manager.
