Pupils at Seaton Sluice Middle School recently welcomed firefighters from West Hartford Fire Station in Cramlington into school for a special assembly on fire safety ahead of Guy Fawkes on November 5th.

The firefighters informed pupils how quickly fires can spread and that it is always better to go to organised displays if they want to see fireworks rather than to handle them personally. They showed them images of fires and fireworks and the potential dangers of using them.

Pupils were very attentive and asked lots of questions during the assembly; it was lovely to hear their very sensible responses to questions asked by the firefighters, which demonstrated how much they had listened.

We hope that everyone has an enjoyable and safe Guy Fawkes night this weekend.
