Donna Mills from ASK Apprenticeships spoke with our Year 11 students in assembly to day about apprenticeships.

An apprenticeship is a real job, with a real employer, where the apprentice will work full-time whilst also studying towards a qualification.

The apprentice will spend the majority of their time ‘on-the-job’, and a minimum of at least 6 hours per week studying or working towards their qualification.

There are more than 800 different apprenticeship standards covering all levels of apprenticeships, from Level 2 (which is the equivalent of 5 GCSEs), all the way up to Level 7, which is the equivalent to a masters degree level.

Visit www.apprenticeships.gov.uk for more information on apprenticeships and resources to help you to search for and apply for apprenticeships.
